welcome to uniques!

a supernatural game set in the fictional realm of astraterra. the realm is separated into four sections, the northern quadrant (the vale), the eastern quadrant (the isle), the western quadrant (the nether) and the southern quadrant (the mist). please note that while characters can be from and live in other quadrants, the game will be set in polis (the capital city in the vale) and all game-wide activities and plot posts will center around polis.

while it is set in a fictional realm, things such as modern technology and social media will be present, they just won't be called the same as they are on earth.

both humans and supernatural creatures alike are welcome, though it isn't uncommon for the two kinds to not get along. the human resistance does not take kindly to being controlled by the timeless.

 characters 

given that the game is set in a fictional realm, beings will be of our own making. for example, werewolves aren't tied to the phases of the moon. fae don't have their own realm. witches are generational witches with different practices/focuses. you are more than welcome to explore and collaborate within the lore if there is something that you, as a player, want to focus on.

we will not be accepting specific lore based creatures that do not have a generational reason to exist (eg: single lore cryptids/creatures such as mothman, bigfoot, abominable snowman • gods from any pantheon • specific demons/angels like michael, lucifer, gabriel, etc • historical figures), only species types.

 applying 

prior to submitting an application, please be mindful of the rules. we've all been doing this long enough to know what they are, but please familiarize yourself with them anyway.

line crossing we ask that you do not cross the ic/ooc line. this includes, but is not limited to: bullying, harassment, and using information learned ooc from narratives, private posts and character bios to color or influence in-character interaction.

please do not hesitate to reach out to the mods via the dropbox if you are having an issue with another player.

played bys all pbs used must adhere to the five-year rule. white washing of pbs will not be tolerated. if you are unsure about your pb selection, the mods will happily discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

bios we will not be requiring examples, but we do ask that you provide a bio in the form of at least five (5) detailed bullet points about your character, equaling at least 250 words. this should be visible to all members and included along side any details specific to your character's species.

please refrain from mentioning power rankings or strength in bios as they will be established after you are added to the community. if you have any questions, please go to our dropbox.

misc if your character is returning after being removed within the last six (6) weeks, please let us know. we are first come, first served. we will not be accepting pb challenges. any challenges will be deleted, no exceptions.

 in-game 

activity activity will be monitored on the friends page and on the community wide plot posts. you are required to post one (1) update per month and it must be directly tied to character development.

all introductions must be posted in ~indexed within 72 hours (3 days) of being added. you must respond to a majority of the comments to be considered completed.

please make sure to drop off activity before the last day of the month to be counted. this does not include introductions. if you are added after the 15th, you are not required to post an actual update until the following month. end of month removals are done on the last day of the month.

activity must show effort. this can be expressed through complex html or word count in the form of narratives, personal journal entries, public or private (as long as the mods can see it) scenes, etc. we want to create an atmosphere that encourages character development and creativity. we will not be accepting social media posts, private lyrics, playlists or moodboards with less than 15 images as any form of activity. you may still post them, but they will not count toward your monthly requirement.

limits/restrictions because we are focused on character development and plot, the current character limit is two (2) characters per writer. we ask that current players disclose new characters brought into the game.

at this time we will not be using messaging apps. this includes wire, discord, telegram and any other instant messaging apps. we will be invoking the honor system, so please do not advertise usernames in-game or in other places.

you are more than welcome to have a dating profile in your journal, but we will not have a community dedicated to it. please ensure it is backdated so they do not clog the friends page.
